Living with the Land is arguably one of my favorite attractions, so when it or any one of the remaining classic Epcot attractions receive any kind of upgrade or update, it’s always well received.
While on the attraction just this past weekend, we noticed that the film scene that precedes the greenhouse section of the ride was severely out of sync. Turns out that was a sign of good things to come, as the attraction has since debuted a new digital film scene with updated narration!
The new scenes are incredibly crisp and colorful, without that old-timey projector look.
The narration, which features a new voiceover, mentions similar horticulture methods. It’s worth noting, however, that instead of singling out particular countries in some sections, it refers instead to specific ecological regions. For example, in the old video, the narration mentioned Saudi Arabia and Mexico. Now it simply refers to “arid regions.”
They even filmed a new segment of the greenhouse, so it’s no longer that 1990s Cast Member clipping herbs.
You can check out the full segment of new video in the clip below!
If you’re feeling nostalgic, we’ll have a full ridethrough video of the attraction up later today on our YouTube channel!
Other digital upgrades coming to The Land Pavilion include an all-new film to occupy the old Harvest Theater upstairs, called “Awesome Planet”. It’s set to debut this January with the 2020 Epcot International Festival of the Arts.
This makes me so happy. I love Living With The Land. I make a habit of riding it several times in a trip, to see the new crops, take a moment to stop and rest, and enjoy the gentleness of the attraction. Hopefully the new films mean it’s not going anywhere too soon!
This is the best WDW news we’ve had in a while!
I’m so confused!!! How does this mesh with the previous rumors of The Land and The Seas being demoed? I love Living with the Land, and I’m glad its getting some love, but I don’t see Disney spending money on an attraction they know will be going away soon.
I’m so confused!!!
There would be such communication if it’s still 5 years away.
Oh wow! My wife and I were just talking about this, how it would be awesome to get new film segments.
Ok we got the old script. We rode this past Saturday and our narration went out during the greenhouse and we got the 90’s CMs clipping. Just must have missed it 😞
Livin’ with the Land we all love, nature’s plan will shine above….:)
This is my favorite attraction and I am so pleased that they updated this but kept it true to its roots. This is EXACTLY the kind of updates needed for the classics. Make them better, don’t upend them.
SO so happy.
THIS is what every Disney fan wants.
Going next month, September, then in October, November, and especially December! We just love WDW THAT much!
