The water crackers are plain, but the real stand-outs here are the meats and cheeses. There was a good variety of meats as well as cheeses. While I’d consider some of the other charcuterie boards from the festival, this one is a good pairing with any of the wines from the booth.

*NEW* Caramel-Apple Popcorn – $10.00

Frozen Apple Pie – $4.00

Frozen Apple Pie, $4.00

The Frozen Apple Pie comes to the Appleseed Orchard after being at Shimmering Sips Mimosa Bar last year. This was one of our favorite non-alcoholic drinks of the day. There’s a great apple pie filling on top of the slush that’s quite tasty and refreshing. The only issue we had with this is that a straw wasn’t provided. Granted, Disney is trying to move away from single-use plastics, but the drink is already being served in one so what’s one straw going to hurt? We obtained spoons and were able to enjoy this offering properly, it’s utterly just too difficult to enjoy without a straw or spoon.

*NEW* Playalinda Brewing Co. Apple Pie Beer, Titusville, FL – $4.50

Untappd describes the Apple Pie Beer as an “all American porter with hints of cinnamon and apple with a roasted malt flavor.”

*NEW* Sea Dog Brewing Co. Green Apple Ale, Clearwater, FL – $4.50

Untappd describes the Green Apple Ale as a “light, crisp, refreshing ale with the balance of a tart green apple.”

*NEW* Ciderboys Lemon Cello Hard Cider, Stevens Point, WI – $4.50

Untappd describes Lemon Cello Hard Cider as “cider Italian style. A cheery, aromatic fusion of hard apple cider and the refreshing lemon flavor of limoncello liqueur. The taste of fresh lemon peel zest imparts a sunny sweetness.”

*NEW* Collective Arts Brewing Cherry Apple Hard Cider, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada – $4.50

Collective Arts Brewing describes their Cherry Apple Hard Cider as “a tart cherry cider blend made with Ontario Montmorency Cherry juice from the Niagara escarpment, and blended with our Local Press cider. The flavour of fresh cherries and orchard grown apples is paired perfectly. The result is a juicy and fresh cider which is extremely well balanced, dry and is an ideal beverage for the summer.”

*NEW* Woodchuck Hard Cider Spiced Apple, Middlebury, VT – $4.50

Woodchuck Cidery describes their Spiced Apple Hard Cider as “a balanced cider with notes of apple, and a bright cinnamon and nutmeg finish.”

Apple Blossom Sky: Fanta® Apple, Ginger Beer, Floodwall Apple Brandy, Burton’s Maplewood Farm Applejack Brandy Barrel Aged Syrup and Mini Marshmallows, $11.00

It’s served in a plastic souvenir mule cup that you get to keep. There are a bunch of mini marshmallows on top. We couldn’t quite determine the taste at first. It’s sweet and fruity. We thought it was a little bit like rum, but it’s got a strong apple flavor. The marshmallows are a little strange, but they work, oddly enough. Apple Fanta, ginger beer, brandy barrel aged maple syrup. It’s sweet, like a green apple candy flavor, but not overly sweet. The brandy is very noticeable.

Beer Flight – $9.75

Beer Flight, $9.75

M.I.A. Beer Company Apple Trappe Belgian Style Tripel Ale: M.I.A. makes good beer. This was no surprise; this is a very good true-to-style style Belgian Tripel. I didn’t get much apple, but make sure you are a fan of Tripels if you get this, as this is an acquired taste more than most.

Playalinda Brewing Co. Apple Pie Beer: This was our collective least favorite of the 3 beers in the flight. It has a very strong apple taste, yet it’s a rather underwhelming beer.

Sea Dog Brewing Co. Green Apple Ale: This had mixed reviews but we settled on “just okay”. This is called green apple, but it tastes more like a spiced apple. You get a sugary spice baked apple vibe from this beer. Those words make it sound tasty… but remember, this is a beer, not a cider, so picture those flavors mixed with an amber beer. It’s more weird than cool.

Cider Flight – $9.75

Cider Flight, $9.75

Ciderboys Lemon Cello Hard Cider: The star of this flight. Cider fans will enjoy it, limoncello fans will enjoy it, and park guests looking to try something fun, interesting, new and tasty will enjoy it. I am impressed with this.
Collective Arts Brewing Cherry Apple Hard Cider. This is definitely more “cider-y” then the first cider. It has a smoked apple taste and you better really enjoy the taste of apples. It was our least favorite of the 3 ciders.
Woodchuck Hard Cider Spiced Apple: This will fall under the “safest” of the three ciders. They call it spiced although I do not get much spice in this cider. Its a decent and drinkable cider but nothing crazy in this cup o’ cider.

Wine Flight 1 – $7.75

appleseed orchard epcot food wine 2019 44
Wine Flight 1, $7.75

Forge Cellars Dry Riesling Classique: Of course, the red wines are too cold, and this riesling is not cold enough. Rieslings should be a super-cold, yummy dessert wine, and this is room temperature, which the reds should be at. Overall, it’s an okay riesling. It’s definitely a drier riesling, so people who are expecting a nice, sweet riesling are going to be wanting something super sweet and syrupy, and this is not that. This is a dry riesling, so it’s going to take you by surprise.

Conundrum Red Blend: Wow. The sweetest of the reds we’ve had today; very fruit-forward. It’s got a jamminess to it. It’s sweet, but it has a drier finish, so it the first thing you taste is all that fruit and sweetness, and then it kind of evens out. It’s nice at the end. I liked it much better once it resonated on my palate.

Amavi Cellars Syrah: Yum! This is the best wine of both flights. It was served at the right temperature, which is nice. It’s a very well-balanced wine. I wouldn’t say this is sweet or savory; it’s not too heavy, it’s not too big. It’s a nice syrah. It’s well done.

Wine Flight 2 – $9.50

appleseed orchard epcot food wine 2019 39
Wine Flight 2, $9.50

tenshən Rhône Style White Blend: It is for sure a cold-climate wine. It’s almost like a muted icewine. It’s interesting; it’s not bad, but you have to be a white wine drinker. It’s got a little bit of sweetness to it, it is not a dry wine.

Long & Reed Wine Company Cabernet Franc: First of all, you can tell there’s refrigeration on the cup, which is weird for a cabernet franc. It’s way too cold, and it needs to open up; it’s tight. I feel like it should be a dry wine. It’s so cold, it takes away so much from the wine. It’s got a ground, tobacco-y, dark licorice taste to it. It’s an okay cabernet franc; nothing special, crazy, bold, or exciting.

Frog’s Leap Zinfandel: Jucier, definitely more fruit-forward. There’s a little more sweetness to it, but it’s still big enough, it holds up to be a zinfandel. Again, it’s served cold, which is very strange; it should be room temperature. But it’s better than the cabernet franc. Frog’s Leap is sold in almost every store, so most people probably have this. It’s an okay zinfandel. More fruit forward, a little more sweetness, but still a red wine. Not a sweet red, but on the sweeter side for a zinfandel.
