Creepies and crawlies, toads in a pond, let there be specialty food from regions beyond. Hungry Bear Restaurant in Disneyland is getting into the spirit with two food offerings for The Haunted Mansion 50th Anniversary: the Dead-Cadent Funnel Cake and The Caretaker sandwich.
Dead-Cadent Funnel Cake – $8.99
House funnel cake is topped with decadent brownie, white chocolate raspberry ice cream, and chocolate pearls.
Wow, this dessert is really great! The brownie is exceptional and has a rich chocolate flavor. The funnel cake is cooked really well. And the ice cream has light raspberry and white chocolate flavors. Once again, Hungry Bear Restaurant kills it with their specialty funnel cake.
The Caretaker – $12.99
Named for the only living inhabitant of The Haunted Mansion, this sandwich is made of crispy pork belly seasoned with house spices, layered with BBQ Sauce, grilled onions, cheese sauce, house-made pickle, and crispy slaw on a potato roll. Guests get a choice of fries or onion rings on the side, so we opted for the onion rings.
This is a solid sandwich. The pickles sort of take over, in terms of flavor, but it was still good overall. We’ve had bad luck in the past when we’ve dined at Hungry Bear, so we take this as a win (even though we waited 30 minutes for our order).
If you’ve been dying to try all of The Haunted Mansion 50th Anniversary specialty food offerings, make final arrangements to visit Disneyland Park now. These offerings will only be available for a limited time.
Umm…any chance they deliver? I’ve been getting hungry…
