Last week, Sour Cherry Mickey Beignets were the hot item at Mint Julep Bar in Disneyland Park. And this week, it’s so long Sour Cherry and hello Sour Apple Mickey Beignets. You might think that sour apple is a weird flavor to pair with a deep-fried French pastry, but we’re shocked to say this combo actually worked.
Sour Apple Mickey Beignets – $5.49 for Pack of 3
These new seasonal beignets are topped with sour apple-flavored powdered sugar. The powdered sugar is very green, but thankfully didn’t leave a stain on our fingers! That might be a first for a dessert item at Disneyland Resort. The sour apple-flavor is present, but not overpowering. It really depends on how much powdered sugar is in a bite of the beignet.
So if you want a really pronounced sour apple-flavor, we recommend covering the beignets in as much powdered sugar as possible. If you’re a “less is more” person, then a light dusting will suit your taste buds.
Original Mickey Beignets will always be our favorite sweet treat at Disneyland. However, we really did enjoy this seasonal flavor. The sour apple powdered sugar added a summery twist to the beignets, making this flavor perfect for the transition into the Halloween season that’s a month away. Will you be giving these a try?
