It seems Tomorrowland is getting much more than just a fresh coat of paint. Between brand-new phone charging stations at the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. and the promise of a new Tomorrowland marquee in the coming months, we’re excited for all the love this fan-favorite Magic Kingdom land is getting. Over at Mickey’s Star Traders, however, big changes are happening, with construction walls up across the store:
Right as you walk in, you’re met with a corner where they’ve sandwiched a soda fridge in between a wall with a pressed penny machine and a teal construction wall.
The walls then traverse through the middle of the store, sectioning out the back where the mural and shop displays are. Cast Members at the location informed us that the shop is undergoing remodeling to be able to change theme and displays easier throughout trends and the seasons.
While the store remains open with various displays scattered throughout, it’s definitely going to be a tight fit in here during peak crowds.
One of my favorite things about this store is being able to peer down into it from the PeopleMover. Well, it seems they don’t want anyone peeking at the construction as they’ve blocked out all of the windows here.
The side entrance to Mickey’s Star Trader’s is also closed, with a trash can blocking the way. We’ll be keeping an eye out on this beloved store as it undergoes any changes.
Until next time, there’s a great, big, beautiful tomorrow!
