REVIEW: New Pumpkin Spice Caramel Cupcake Brings Fall Flavor to Karamell-Kuche in EPCOT

Halloween is right around the corner, which means pumpkin spice season is reaching its end. It’s not over yet, and you can find even more pumpkin spice goodies over at the Germany Pavilion at EPCOT. We stopped into Karamell-Kuche and discovered a pumpkin spice caramel cupcake in the case and had to give it a try.

The pumpkin spice caramel cupcake is served in a plastic to-go container, and it’s a bit more squished than the ones in the display case. As we opened the container, some of the caramel was stuck on the top of the container, so we scraped it off and put it back on the cupcake. We can’t really smell much pumpkin flavor, but looking at the color of the cake, this is most certainly pumpkin.

When we cut the cupcake in half, we find a rich gooey filling of caramel. This is a nice surprise, and it’s not overly stuffed.

The cake has one of the strongest pumpkin spice tastes we’ve come across in our reviews this season. It’s very good, but the cake is a bit dry and dense. The frosting really makes up for the cake, though.  A rich cream cheese frosting tops it all off with just a hint of pumpkin spice to it. The frosting is excellent and goes well with the cake. The caramel is good, but the flavor really gets lost between the cake and the frosting.

For $5.59, this is a must if you love pumpkin spice cake. If you’re not as crazy about pumpkin spice, we suggest trying the new boozy caramel flight instead. Enjoy!
