Rumor: Robert Downey Jr. May Return To The MCU In Future Disney+ Series
Looks like Disney and Marvel may be trying to get Robert Downey Jr. to reprise his role as Tony Stark, or maybe just his voice, in an upcoming Disney+ series. The series is potentially based on the comic book character, Ironheart. In Marvel Comics “Ironheart”, Riri Williams is a 15 year old girl that basically takes over the mantel of Iron Man after Tony Stark dies. Riri is aided by Tony Stark’s AI while using her Ironheart armor.
For now, this is strictly a rumor, but it seems that anything is possible when it comes to bringing big stars to Disney+.
From We Got This Covered:
Iron Man sacrificed himself to save the universe in Avengers: Endgame, but this being the MCU, fans aren’t convinced we’ve seen the last of Tony Stark in the franchise. One common idea is that he could return in the form of an AI version of himself in the future. We thought this might occur in Spider-Man: Far From Home via E.D.I.T.H., but that didn’t turn out to be the case.
Fans might not have been too far off, though, as We Got This Covered has heard from our sources – the same ones who told us Ewan McGregor was returning as Obi-Wan and that Robert Pattinson would be playing Batman – that Robert Downey Jr. may be headed back to the MCU for an Ironheart TV show. Marvel apparently wants to do a Disney Plus series starring Riri Williams’ Ironheart, the teenage genius who continues Tony’s legacy in the comics, with Downey Jr. expected to return in a voiceover capacity as her suit’s AI. Much like Paul Bettany’s J.A.R.V.I.S.

Sony Confirms That For Spider-Man And The MCU, “For The Moment, The Door Is Closed”
While recently talking with Variety about the recent Spider-Man controversy, Sony Pictures chairman and CEO confirmed that, for the moment, the door is closed with having Spider-Man and the MCU coexisting. But, he also provided some hope by saying that it may not always be like this.
Jon Favreau also commented on the situation and stated that he remains cautiously optimistic.
Right now, there are no immediate plans for any major crossover movie featuring the likes of The Avengers and any other Marvel characters. So, you never know. Maybe when that time comes, everything will be worked out for all parties involved.
From Variety:
Fans holding out hope that Spider-Man might be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be disappointed to hear that “for the moment the door is closed,” according to Sony Pictures chairman and CEO Tony Vinciquerra.
Speaking at Variety‘s Entertainment & Technology summit, Vinciquerra cryptically added that “it’s a long life,” implying that perhaps in the distant future the web-slinging hero might swing his way back to the Disney-owned company.
Vinciquerra insisted that there is “no ill will” between Sony and Marvel, after the two failed to reach on agreement on financing terms for upcoming Spider-Man movies, effectively removing Tom Holland’s Spider-Man from the Marvel fold in terms of both future standalone and team-up features. However, he also did acknowledge the fan backlash to the news, saying that it has been “an interesting couple of weeks” for the studio.
Many have expressed the hope that Spider-Man might still remain in the MCU, with Marvel stalwart Jon Favreau commenting during his keynote conversation at the Ent & Tech summit that the split is “not for lack of trying.”
“I’ve been talking to everybody about it…I’m cautiously optimistic,” Favreau said of the Spidey situation. “I think it’s a long way away and I think the collaboration has been really strong up to this point so I’m hopeful that there’s away for us all to play together going forward.”

Rumor: “Wolverine Vs Hulk” Movie May Be In The Works
There is a really intriguing rumor going on that may finally see the Hulk and Wolverine go at in an MCU movie. Now that the Wolverine movie rights are back with Marvel Stuidos, what a perfect way to introduce Wolverine into the MCU, the same way Wolverine debuted in the comics with The Incredible Hulk #181!
From Cosmic Book News:
The rumor has it that Kevin Feige is developing a Wolverine vs. Hulk movie which will feature the “Immortal” version from the current Marvel comics.
Now new details about the Wolverine vs Hulk movie come from Mikey Stutton who filled in TVO the following information on the Lords of the Long Box YouTube channel.
It’s said that “Wolverine vs Hulk” will not be the title because Marvel Studios can’t use Hulk in the title as Universal Pictures still owns the distribution rights.
So what will happen is that it will have a different title, but be a Hulk story, which is similar to how they used “Planet Hulk” in Thor: Ragnarok, and also similar to how the “Big Guy” can appear in the various Avengers movies.
Here’s hoping this one is true!
