The final Christmas touches have been completed at Magic Kingdom! While the majority of the holiday decorations were put up last week, we were still awaiting the appearance of the Christmas window displays at the Emporium on Main Street, U.S.A. We were filled with glee today when we discovered that they had finally arrived! Guests lined up to admire the displays that depict the 1983 Disney animated short, Mickey’s Christmas Carol, based on the classic Charles Dickens’ tale.
The first window shows Mickey as Bob Cratchit working away under the harsh supervision of Ebenezer Scrooge, portrayed by Scrooge McDuck.
In the second window, Scrooge is paid an unexpected visit by the ghost of Jacob Marley (Goofy). Marley warns him to change his selfish ways.
In the third window, Jiminy Cricket as the Ghost of Christmas Past shows Scrooge the moment when he chose money over his love, Isabelle (Daisy Duck).
In the fourth window, Scrooge awakens to find the Ghost of Christmas Present feasting in his bedroom.
In the fifth window, Pete appears as the Ghost of Christmas Past. He shows Scrooge how his current actions in life will send him to an afterlife of hellfire and brimstone.
We’re glad this display was included, so we could relive how much this scene in the movie traumatized us as children.
No worries! Scrooge realizes the error of his ways. He brings Christmas cheer to the Cratchits and embraces Tiny Tim. “And God bless us, everyone!”
The window displays move, too! Check out the video below.
Well, that ends this Christmas tale. We’re glad to see that Main Street’s holiday decorations are finally complete! Are you excited to see the Emporium’s window displays? Keeping checking WDWNT for all of your Disney holiday news!
I can’t express how much I appreciate your photos of Disney World. For those of us who can’t visit during the holidays, these are a wonderful fix!
