Much like L’Artisan des Glaces, another year-round counter service option in the France Pavilion, Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie is offering a special treat for the 2019 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays. Though they are serving the same dessert as last year, Bûche de Noël au Chocolat, it is important to note that the recipe has changed slightly this year, as they are now serving chocolate orange cream mousse this year with the dessert, instead of the chocolate mint cream mousse from last year.

Despite how beautiful this dessert looks, we didn’t love it. It tasted like unsatisfying Christmas chocolate candies with orange filling.

The crispy pearls and the white chocolate piece on top add a nice crunch to the cake. They helped break up the monotony of the near-gelatinous outer layer.

The filling oozes out once you cut into it, and the ganache on top runs into the filling. It would be nice if the chocolate tasted nearly as good as it looked.
