Come February 2020, you can start your day off in space––Space 220, that is. The long-awaited Future World restaurant may have been pushed back to next year, but at least the wait will have been worth it, as it seems guests will have even more dining options to choose from.
EPCOT debuted a new park guidemap today, and reflected within it was a series of changes to the park’s infrastructure, layout, and offerings. Upcoming new additions, like Space 220, were also included in the listings, along with their updated opening dates.
Amidst the excitement of all the new offerings, a small detail was overlooked. Next to the restaurant’s name is “BLD”, which is the key for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. That means you’ll be able to have scrambled eggs in Space 220, and this may be one of the few places where dehydrated eggs (a staple of Disney breakfast) might actually make thematic sense. While this is also to be expected, it appears that the restaurant will also be in the mid-to-high range as far as pricing goes.
According to the latest job listings for the restaurant, it is planned to open in February 2020.
Patina Restaurant Group will operate the new restaurant, and they’ve developed a menu that features internationally-inspired cuisine, more than 1,000 bottles of the world’s finest wines, and a wide selection of craft beer to be housed in their very own “Space Cellar”. Much like the International Space Station (ISS), the restaurant will also be manned by an international crew.
As always, we’ll be on the lookout for when reservations open up for the restaurant, so stay tuned to be among the first to know. See you in Space!
Any word on the dining plan credits (1 table service or 2 table service?)
