It’s a Christmas miracle! “The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History” show has returned to the Magic Kingdom today just for the holidays! Much to the disappointment of hundreds of fans, the show was cancelled amidst a slew of budget cuts, and while we thought we’d seen the last-ever performance in October, we’re happy to announce that the Muppets are back. In fact, we were there to capture the first returning performance of the limited-time show.
The show features Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Fozzie and Sam Eagle as they describe major events in the founding of the United States. In Muppet style, they are of course joined by a human who helps move the story along. After having been removed, you’ll notice that the old showtimes board is back!
The show is performed in second-story windows of the Heritage House and features two parts.
In the show, you’ll learn about Paul Revere’s famous ride to announce the arrival of the British. Cast Members have informed us that this is the only version of the show playing, at least for today.
You can watch the first returning performance of “The Muppets Present…” in the video below:
The Muppets will perform daily in Liberty Square at the Magic Kingdom through December 31; see the full schedule of showtimes here.
