Magic is happening today with the debut of the newest daytime spectacular, “Magic Happens”, at Disneyland park. With the help of Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios, this incredible new parade comes to life with stunning floats, energetic music, artistic costumes, and now, thanks to some fabulous Disneyland chefs, a few deliciously magical eats and treats.

These brand new bites were created to celebrate the latest addition to the park’s lineup of fun entertainment offerings. Since the parade marches right down the middle of Main Street, U.S.A., it’s only fitting that these items can be found at Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor, Refreshment Corner, and Jolly Holiday Bakery Café. Today, we take our “Magic Happens” parade food tour to the Refreshment Corner, where a new Coco-inspired hot dog is spicing things up.

Esquite Hot Dog – $11.99

On the savory side, Refreshment Corner is serving up the Esquite Hot Dog – a foot-long hot dog with crushed corn chips and corn esquite mix topped with cotija cheese and chili-cayenne powder and served with your choice of chips or fresh fruit.

We loved this hot dog! While the bun was a bit dry, the toppings make for a delicious sweet/spicy flavor combo. 

While the corn and red chilie each have their own unique flavors, they compliment each well in this dish. 

This hot dog is not too spicy, but definitely has a nice kick! The cayenne powder is what is really brings this dish to life. 

The cotija cheese tastes reminds us of a high quality nacho cheese. It’s warm and holds all the toppings together nicely. This dog is sure to make you “un poco loco”!
