While construction at Walt Disney World has ground to a halt due to the COVID-19 closure, things have remained in full swing at Tokyo Disney Resort! Our Cinderella Castle refurbishment, ongoing since October, will finish up on April 7th. This is ideally around when the resort will reopen (although no date has been confirmed yet). So let’s take a look at the happenings after two weeks!

From the Tokyo Disneyland Main Entrance, we can already see the top spires jutting into the skies once again. Now featuring new blue and gold paint jobs as well!

It’s so nice to get this view once more. Seeing the boxy scaffolding for the past few months hasn’t exactly been a delight.

The scaffolding appears to be about halfway down from this vantage point. A note here, the front entrance scaffolds are finally down as well, but it appears Sweetheart Cafe’s exterior is still covered.

From the Fantasy Springs side of things, the scaffolds are still a bit high on the back side of the castle. But it probably won’t be too long until we say sayonara to these as well!

And from the front, we can see that the Mary Blair-esque scaffold covers are long gone, leaving visible the rest of the castle in all its glory. I can’t wait to get back in to Tokyo Disneyland once more and see the castle for the first time in six months!

Two sister castles, out in the skies together at last.

The Cinderella Castle refurbishment project is set to conclude on April 7th. It seems that even during the closure, the construction workers have been some busy bees, finishing projects up for Guests to admire when it’s finally safe to head back into the parks. And we’ll be there when it is! Until then, stay tuned to WDWNT for the latest news!
