Annual Passholder Appreciation Days have begun here at the Universal Orlando Resort and among the perks are a variety of UOAP exclusive food items. Over at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, Cafe 4 is serving up Margherita Pizza Fries, which is obviously a must-have for any Passholder—and one that will certainly help ease the pain of no Halloween Horror Nights.
What a sight! As soon as these arrived at our table, the aroma of balsamic glaze and pesto began to fill the air. We quickly removed our face masks so we could dive into this crispy pile of goodness.
These beauties are Passholder exclusive and might not be available through Mobile Ordering, so be sure to ask a Team Member and they can assist you in ordering these from a register. This layered dish consists of marinara sauce, mozzarella, Italian tomatoes, balsamic glaze, and basil pesto served over a pile of hot, fresh French fries. It isn’t your typical plate of junky pizza fries, and the colorful ingredients really help take it up a notch.
This dish packs some “super” flavors! Along the bottom of the dish, you’ll find a sweet, tomato-basil flavored sauce. There’s just enough to get a little sauce with each bite, without causing the fries to get wet and soggy. The basil pesto sauce was very light in flavor, with the taste of basil complimenting the tomato flavors perfectly. The mozzarella really didn’t catch our attention as we devoured the entire bowl, but the tomato, basil, and balsamic flavors worked in perfect harmony to bring these fries to another level.
Cafe 4, located in Marvel Super Hero Island, is serving up these Margherita Pizza Fries for Annual Passholders for a limited time. We’ve tried and loved the UOAP doughnut from Voodoo Doughtnut and Crab Rangoon Dip from Lombard’s Seafood Grill, and now we can add Margherita Pizza Fries to our list of must-have UOAP snacks.
