A day after a massive lightning bolt hit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the land’s feature attraction, Rise of the Resistance, failed to open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Now, guests who obtained Boarding Groups for today are being informed that they will not be able to be accommodated.
Boarding Groups were distributed as usual this morning at 10:00 AM and again at 2:00 PM.
Rumors are circulating that the lightning bolt may have taken out some electrical units pertinent to the ride, given that the bolt struck somewhere in the Resistance Forest near the Rise of the Resistance attraction. However, none of this is confirmed, and other nearby attractions, like Muppet*Vision 3D are also temporarily closed for the day. Disney has an extensive lightning rod system in place throughout all of its parks that is designed to sustain extreme weather conditions.
We’ll continue to monitor the status of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance for any further updates to this story.
We’re heading there on Sunday…is this still closed? I hope not, we literally booked this trip to see Galaxies Edge.
