With all crossbeam supports completely removed from the Great Ceremonial House at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, construction on a new, streamlined crossbeam design has now started.

We reported on the concept art in October, with the new entrance and monorail station having a completion date of Summer 2021.

Construction is also visible from the pool.

The Great Ceremonial House will still have its beloved crossbeam structure, but it will feature fewer beams, creating a more sophisticated, cleaner design.

The entrance isn’t the only part of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort getting refurbished. Moana-themed rooms will be available when the resort reopens to guests next summer.
