Le Marché de Noël Holiday Kitchen (roughly translated to Christmas market) asks us for the 2020 Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays to “Feast on très magnifique fare, wine and specialty cocktails from the France Pavilion.” How can we say non to that?

Rillette de Saumon: Salmon Spread with House-made Bread – $5.75

The house-made bread is really good, but more akin to a pastry than bread. It’s nice and flaky, and packed with buttery layers.

Rillette de Saumon: Salmon Spread with House-made Bread – $5.75

The salmon spread has like a tuna salad consistency and while it doesn’t taste like much on its own, with the bread, the whole dish is elevated. This is a really good pairing of flavors, especially for the price.

Rillette de Saumon: Salmon Spread with House-made Bread – $5.75

This makes a good snack for the price of $5.75, and you receive a just enough salmon to pair with the pastry.

Dinde Forestiere, Pommes Dauphines: Turkey with Bacon, Mushrooms, and Onions in a Mustard Cream Sauce with Puffed Potatoes – $6.95

This dish is unremarkable. The turkey is well-cooked, the bacon is fatty, and the sauce is just plain gravy.

Dinde Forestiere, Pommes Dauphines: Turkey with Bacon, Mushrooms, and Onions in a Mustard Cream Sauce with Puffed Potatoes – $6.95

The potato puffs are just fried mashed potato balls. They’re overly dense and gluey.

It’s not terrible, but not worth the price tag or the wait in line.

Bûche de Noël au Chocolat “Christmas Log”: Chocolate Cake with Dark Chocolate Caramel Ganache – $5.25

Bûche de Noël au Chocolat “Christmas Log”: Chocolate Cake with Dark Chocolate Caramel Ganache – $5.25

A chocolate cake with dark chocolate caramel ganache, this is a treat fit for any lover of a bitter and sweet taste combination. Dense and rich, the texture only amplifies the dark chocolate. I highly recommend it.

*NEW* Rose Petillant Methode Traditionnelle Champenoise: Red Sparkling Wine, Pink Flamingo – $12.00

This tasted like a bad, cheap rose wine, and even then it wasn’t good.

We expected the rose to be sweet, but it was incredibly dry. We recommend skipping this wine.

*NEW* Cabernet Sauvignon, Village de France – $6.00

This martini looks stunning and is perfect for a festive and elegant Instagram post.

Frozen Hot Chocolate Martini: Grey Goose Vanilla Vodka ($28/bottle) and Chocolate Milk – $10.75

However, the martini is just fine at best. It just tastes like frozen chocolate milk served in a fancy glass.

We couldn’t taste any of the vodka in this drink. Even down in the bottom of the glass, it lacked any trace of alcohol.

*NEW* Boosted Mimosa with Monin Immunity Boost – $9.50

le-marche-de-noel-2020-2

This was the better of the two sparkling drinks, in that it was actually drinkable compared to the flamingo rose. All the ingredients tasted cheap, both the sparkling wine and the orange juice. The “immunity boost” is basically just a squirt of Monin syrup, which supposedly contains vitamins and antioxidants.
