Central Florida Under Tropical Storm Warning as Tropical Storm Eta Approaches
Tropical Storm Eta is currently over Cuba as it continues to make its way towards Florida.
While over Cuba, Eta is expected to cause “significant, life-threatening flash flooding and river flooding” before moving towards south Florida, where there may be flash and urban flooding. The Florida Keys and portions of South Florida are under a Tropical Storm Warning and Hurricane Watch.
There is also the potential for minor river flooding in Central Florida, which remains on the edge of the storm’s cone of uncertainty. Areas of the central Florida coast are under Tropical Storm Warning, and tropical-storm force winds will be hitting central Florida and the Orlando area as early as 2:00 AM on Monday morning.
Walt Disney World’s Hurricane Policy states that a Hurricane Watch or Warning must be issued for cancellation or change fees to be waived, while Universal Orlando Resort’s policy offers similar waivers for Hurricane and Tropical Storm Warnings.
