CONCEPT ART: Golden Cinderella Statue Revealed for Disney Wish Atrium Aboard Disney Cruise Line

If you’ve been waiting for a glimpse of the newest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, your wish has been granted!

During this morning’s “Disney Parks Magical Christmas Celebration” on ABC, we got a brand new look at the Disney Wish, set to make its maiden voyage in summer 2022. In classic Disney Cruise Line tradition, the grand atrium will feature a character statue to welcome guests as they board. Aboard the Disney Wish, that character statue will be Cinderella, a large, majestic statue in gold.

Weighing approximately 144,000 gross tons and featuring 1,250 guest staterooms, the Disney Wish will be a larger ship than both the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy.

Back in April, Meyer Werft, the shipbuilder responsible for the Disney Wish, said in a video to its staff that its production timeline, which includes two additional “Triton” class ships for Disney Cruise Line, could be delayed to keep the business operational with no new orders expected until 2023 or 2024. While the Disney Wish’s debut will only be pushed back for a matter of months, this could further alter plans for the following two ships even more. When they were initially announced in 2018, the plan was to launch the trio in 2021, 2022, and 2023, respectively.
