CONFIRMED: Marvel Studios Will Not Recast The Role of T’Challa in “Black Panther 2”

During the Marvel Studios segment of tonight’s Disney Investor Day 2020 event, Kevin Feige talked about the tragic loss of Chadwick Boseman and the impact on the upcoming “Black Panther 2”.

In speaking about the late Boseman, Feige said:

“His portrayal of T’Challa, the Black Panther is iconic and transcends any iteration of the character in any other medium from Marvel’s past. And it is for that reason that we will not recast the character.

However, to honor the legacy that Chad helped us build through his portrayal of the King of Wakanda, we want to continue to explore the world of Wakanda, and all of the rich and varied characters introduced in the first film.”

“Black Panther 2” is being written and directed by Ryan Coogler and will be released on July 8th, 2022.
