New Details Released on Super Nintendo World Power-Up Bands; Corresponding Character Bands Can Be Used as Amiibos

New information about power-up bands, which will be used at Super Nintendo World in Universal Studios Japan, is now available on the Nintendo website.

Wearing a “power-up band” on your wrist will expand your playing experience in the themed “Super Nintendo World” area of Universal Studios Japan. You can also use it as an amiibo with your Nintendo Switch back home.

Each band corresponds to a different character. You can probably guess based on the designs, featuring Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, Toad, and Yoshi.

To use as an amiibo for the corresponding character, simply tap the flat surface of the power-up band on the R stick / R stick button on the Joy-Con or Nintendo Switch Lite main unit. amiibos feature similar capabilities to the Disney Infinity line of figures.

At least for now, power-up bands can only be purchased inside Universal Studios Japan. Super Nintendo World will be opening February 4, 2021. Which power-up band do you want? Let us know in the comments.
