Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort’s Monorail station closed early last month as the extensive refurbishment of the resort continues. The Monorail is still driving through the station, but not stopping during construction on the station and the Great Ceremonial House.

More crossbeams have been added to the top of the Great Ceremonial House. The new structure has fewer crossbeams, but will still resemble the original version that was dismantled in October.

More decorative beams have been removed from the station, leaving gaps in over half of the walls.

We expect to see the rest of of these decorative beams removed soon.

From beneath the Monorail track, we can see large gaps in the roof of the station.

We can see the crossbeams from the resort’s pool area as well.

We have also been seeing signs of refurbishment on the new Moana-themed rooms.

One worker was on the stairs of this building, which is currently blocked off.

The plywood previously visible in the windows of these rooms is now either gone or covered.

There is still scaffolding at the end of this building.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will be reopening in summer 2021 if construction remains on schedule. Below is concept art for the finished Great Ceremonial House.
