Tour Skipper Canteen with Tom Corless in a New Episode of “D-tailed” Exclusively For WIGS Members

If you’ve ever eaten at the Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen in the Magic Kingdom (which opened five years ago this month!), you know there is a LOT of interesting stuff adorning the walls and shelves in each of the restaurant’s three themed rooms. But did you know that much of it hearkens to a bit of Disney lore or history?

In the latest episode of D-tailed, WDWNT’s show exclusively for WIGS members at the Seven?!! level or higher, WDWNT’s Tom Corless takes us on a tour of the bookcase in Skipper Canteen, with its many references to everything from the Plaza Swan Boats to Alien Encounter, and the fez collection with hats from many of the members of the Society of Explorers and Adventurers.

D-tailed, hosted by Tom Corless, takes a look at some of the Disney details that are lovingly embedded into so many of our favorite places in Walt Disney World, from themed establishments like AbracadaBar or Skipper Canteen, to the architecture and design of Main Street, U.S.A. Far more than hidden Mickeys, D-tailed unveils some of the real Easter eggs you can find around the parks, including homages to Imagineers and tributes to attractions of the past.
