Greetings, World Travelers, and welcome to another beautiful day at EPCOT! It was a quiet day, but we still found some new things to show you. Let’s get started!
Everyone’s waiting with baited breath to see when the new France Pavilion expansion will open. The construction walls were removed a few days ago and replaced with these mobile planters, signaling that the wait for the new area is coming to an end. Since the removal of the walls however, not much has changed.
It was a similar story at most of the construction sites across the park today—no new changes. We saw two workers atop the Play! Pavilion yesterday, but we haven’t seen any change since then.
We’ve seen workers present every day at Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, but we can’t see any noticeable changes to the outside of the building. Work on the building’s facade has ceased, as has work on the roof.
Workers are busy on the future location of Mouse Gear in Innoventions East, but not much progress is visible from the outside. Workers were up on man lifts today working in the ceiling of the building.
Painting is being done inside the France Pavilion expansion, but not much has changed in the last two days. These drop cloths have been in place for two days, allowing the paint to dry.
Divers are back in the dolphin tank at The Seas Pavilion with their bristle brushes. Cleaning the coral in the tank seems to be a full time job here!
The “down” escalator in The Land Pavilion was temporarily unavailable today. In the past, this would mean a Cast Member would be stationed here directing the flow of traffic to ensure social distancing was maintained on the stairs, but that was not the case today.
It’s been over a week since Donald disappeared from the Gran Fiesta Tour in the Mexico Pavilion, but he was still missing today. We certainly hope he returns soon!
While walking the World Showcase, we noticed that Good Fortune Gifts was open, although we had been told that they would close after the New Year. They have been open seven days a week since the holidays, and though we asked a Cast Member, they didn’t know how long they would remain open.
We found some new merchandise today that we’d like to share with you. The first thing we found were two new open edition pins, the first of which was this Annual Passholder exclusive pin featuring the phrase “It’s A Way Of Life”.
The second was this “Tarzan” open edition pin. Both are available at Pin Traders and retail for $9.99 each.
Next, we stopped at the WonderGround festival booth and found these adorable new D-Tech phone cases featuring new art by Disney artists.
With a wide range of characters covered, there’s something for everyone! Each artwork is available in three phone sizes: iPhone XR, 12 Pro, and 12 Pro Max.
While these cases are only available at this festival tent, we saw last year’s artists designs ultimately come to the D-Tech (now MaDe) On Demand kiosks in the Magic Kingdom and Disney Springs. Each of these cases retails for $29.99.
We had a great day at EPCOT, and we hope you enjoyed coming along with us. Have a wonderful day!
