*NEW* Warm Brown Sugar Stuffed Pretzel with Banana Soft-Serve Ice Cream and Chocolate Sauce – $8.25
This is an interesting combination of two items: a brown sugar-stuffed pretzel and banana soft serve. Both in concept and in taste, this idea works really well.
The banana soft serve has only a mild banana flavor, and blending that with the brown sugar stuffing of the pretzel creates a great mix.
The only thing we felt was missing was just a hint of salt; the pretzel has none. The chocolate drizzle didn’t add anything, nor did it interfere with the other ingredients.
While the flavors absolutely work together, the execution falls short. The pretzel was so tough that it required a knife and pretty serious effort to cut, even after soaking in melted ice cream for several minutes. The hard shell of the pretzel really took away from the enjoyment of the plate.
Plant-based Bratwurst with Spicy Turmeric Aïoli, Coffee Barbecue Jackfruit and Slaw – $9.50
Admittedly, we were afraid when we read “spicy turmeric aioli”, but this vegan brat was quite tasty! The coffee barbecue jackfruit and coleslaw balances that spicy turmeric aioli we feared, and the brat itself was very flavorful. The dish as a whole all worked well, and we were all impressed with this offering given the combination of unique ingredients.
Frozen Slushy: Coca-Cola® or Minute Maid® Lemonade in a Souvenir Spike The Bee Sipper Cup – $15
We all know and love the classic Coca-Cola and Minute Maid Lemonade slushy offerings, but these are made all the more fun in this Spike the Bee souvenir sipper cup. You’d have to pinch yourself to remind yourself you’re not at the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival instead.
*NEW* Playalinda Brewing Co. Blue Raspberry Blonde, Titusville, FL – $9.75
The beer is true to its name. You initially get a massive rush of blue raspberry flavor, which quickly subsides.
The fruit flavoring is stronger than, say, Sea Dog Blueberry; it’s not subtle even on the fruit-flavored beer scale.
For a few moments, you can taste that it is indeed beer. It is on the lighter side, as a blonde should be.
