After an arduous demolition process, Innoventions West at EPCOT has now been fully demolished.
Yesterday, we got our last look at the final section of the building that was still standing. Today, there’s nothing to see except construction walls and blue sky.
Now that Innoventions West is gone, construction will begin on the Moana-inspired walkthrough attraction, Journey of Water. It was confirmed in January that Journey of Water will not be opening this year.
How do you feel about the loss of Innoventions West? Let us know in the comments.

Innoventions lost its luster 20 years ago. Good iddance. Never understood the love for that place. Edutainment? You mean corporations sponsoring touchy-feely commercials? Give me a moat ride where I can sit my butt down and sing a little ditty that gets stuck in my head until I get my hands on another churro.
I’m sad to see it go, but I’m glad it’s finally done. Should be much less sad to walk through that area of the park now, since there won’t be a half-demolished building visible anymore. I look forward to eventual arrival of Moana Journey of Water. While thematically a little questionable, perhaps, I expect it’ll probably be beautiful.
I’m sad. I was there within a few months of the park opening and I have missed the wonder that Innoventions held. But I also realize they had outlived their usefullness.
The end of an era….
