Among the attractions not reopening with the rest of Disneyland Park on April 30 is Jungle Cruise. The ride is being updated both at Disneyland and Walt Disney World to include a new storyline and remove culturally insensitive elements.
Work has begun at the Walt Disney World version of the attraction while it remains open. Notably, the Trader Sam animatronic has been removed. Permits were filed in February for construction at the Disneyland version, so the makeover may have already begun.
Construction on the updated version of the attraction is scheduled to be completed this year. Whether or not Jungle Cruise will reopen before construction is complete remains to be seen, although many fans of the classic attraction would be disappointed to never experience some of the old scenes again.

What culturally insensitive themes are they removing from the Jungle Cruise? I never noticed anything offensive about the ride, but then again I don’t get bothered over every tiny little thing either.
