We’re back at Universal Studios Hollywood to check out what’s new around the park! Since its Grand Reopening on April 16th, Universal Studios Hollywood has reopened two more attractions. Join us as we take a look around the park!
Arrival
General Parking is $28, Preferred Parking is $35, and Front Gate Parking is $50. If you have a Gold Annual Pass, parking is free.
As we made our way to the entrance of the theme park we noticed that the location that was serving Butterbeer on Citywalk has now closed.
The park hours for the day were from 9am – 6pm. We arrived at the park entrance around 10am and were met with minimal waits at security and the turnstiles.
The Director’s Fountain at the front of the park is still under refurbishment.
Attraction Reopenings
The Simpsons Ride has reopened after being closed during the initial reopening period of the park. You can check out our visit to the attraction here!
We also visited the newly reopened Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem. This attraction was also unavailable during the initial reopening of the theme park. Look out for our full coverage the attraction reopening soon!
We’re glad to see more of the Universal Studios Hollywood Attractions reopen as the park continues to operate.
It is worth noting, that due to the reduced capacity for attractions at the park, wait times were high for most of the day. For majority of our trip both the Studio Tour and the newly revamped Jurassic World – The Ride were well above a 100 minute wait.
Characters
There was no shortage of characters on our visit!
Hello Kitty was meeting guests in front of the Animation Studio Store.
We found Scooby-Doo in the Mystery Machine! He was taking photos with guests near Pets Place in front of the former entrance to the now closed Walking Dead Attraction.
We love that Frankenstein is out to take photos with guests! You can find this Classic Universal Monster on French Street near Super Silly Fun Land.
Universal’s Animal Actors
We were able to catch a showing of Universal’s Animal Actors on our trip.
Guests are asked to keep their party seated on the blue markers on the bleachers shown above.
Guests are directed to a blue marker by a Team Member.
Attractions and Shows Still Closed
The DreamWorks Theatre Featuring Kung Fu Panda Adventure is not currently operating.
Both the Super Silly Fun Land Wet and Dry Play areas remain closed.
WaterWorld is one of the two shows that is not currently operating.
The Special Effects Show does not have any showings at this time. The entrance and queue area in front of the theater are currently being used as a Designated Dining Area.
Universal Studios Hollywood has not released any details on when these attractions and shows will resume operation.
Halloween Horror Nights Prep
The closer we get to Summer, the closer we are to Halloween Horror Nights! Even though there has not been an official announcement for the event, as we walked around the park we saw that multiple tents housing Horror Nights mazes have popped and it looks like construction is well underway.
