Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Disney’s Hollywood Studios has a new sign at the attraction’s standby entrance.
Unlike the light-up marquee, this sign is more minimalist.
This former Great Movie Ride entrance was sealed off with a railing as Disney assumed they wouldn’t use it again. The railing was ripped out some time ago and the new sign was just installed.
Before Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway was built, a sign for the Great Movie Ride was in this space and it wasn’t uncommon to enter here.
After removing the sign and going through all the trouble of rerouting the queue and such, Imagineers ended up sawing off the railing they put blocking this opening and resorting signage above. Maybe the Imagineers in 1989 had it figured out?

Nice to see a brand new stand by entrance sign. That means that fast pass is coming back. Yes!!!
Yep, and a likely a paid upgrade to your ticket/vacation package.
