As one of the park’s classic original rides, Prince Charming Regal Carrousel is being refurbished ahead of Magic Kingdom’s 50th anniversary. The vignette images from Cinderella have now all been restored.

Each image is slightly raised and surrounded by gold leaf.

The gold leaf has also been restored to its former glory.

The images tell the story of Cinderella.

Last month, two of the images were still temporary flat versions.

One was restored at the beginning of this month, and now the second is completed. The image below is what this vignette looked like a month ago.

In addition to the gold leaf surrounding each vignette, the gold leaf along the top of the carousel is being restored. In the above photo, the filigree on the right has been restored, while the filigree on the left has not.

On the other hand, here is where the gold leaf has worn off and faded.

This section of filigree has been half restored.
