New Monorail Station Will Not Be Complete When Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Reopens

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will finally reopen to all guests on July 19, 2021. Though it was originally announced that refurbishments would be completed by this date, the updated Monorail station will not be open yet. Monorail service will therefore not be available to and from the resort.

The front desk will move from Pago Pago back to the Great Ceremonial House, but the main entrance will not be open. Guests will be able to see the new porte-cochère and Disney’s Magical Express and valet will be available beneath it.

  1. Anyone who has ever tracked a Disney construction project should not be surprised by this failure to deliver. It is a universal problem for Disney projects – always add months to any expected end date.

  2. This is so frustrating. If the monorail is not operating from the Polynesian, which is one of the best things about the resort, then guests should be compensated by other means.
