Universal Studios Japan’s 20th anniversary is chugging along in spite of COVID-19, with plenty of incredible merchandise and food items on sale to commemorate the “No Limit!” celebration. Their next phase of the anniversary features a collaboration with McDonald’s Japan to create themed Happy Meal toys (or as it’s called in Japan, “Happy Set”) starting July 9th!
At McDonald’s locations across Japan, toys themed to summer and Universal Studios Japan characters will be included with the sale of every Happy Set starting July 9th. Universal Studios Japan also plans to give away Studio Pass park tickets through campaigns on McDonalds’ official social media accounts.
The first phase of these “Universal Studios Japan All-Stars” toys will be given from July 9th through 15th, and will consist of the left half of the photo above, whereas the second set on the right will be given from the 16th through the 22nd. After July 23rd, remaining stocks of both sets will be given away. Videos for how each of the ten toys works are available on the official McDonald’s Japan website.
Additionally, those visiting the weekend of July 10th through 11th will also receive a special sticker and quiz book themed to Universal Studios Japan while supplies last.
McDonald’s also released a fun 15-second spot themed to the Happy Set toys.
