Recently we have been keeping you updated on the pavement changes throughout Walt Disney World. In particular, Disney has been slowly refurbishing the pavement in Tomorrowland in small sections overnight.
The area between Merchant of Venus and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin has been cordoned off as the pavement replacement continues.
Guests are barred from walking on this section as the fresh pavement dries.
The area around the roped off section is scored, meaning that it will soon be replaced as well.
Disney has been systematically replacing the 1994 New Tomorrowland “gear” pavement. More marks indicate that this section will also be updated with generic pavement soon.
We also found scored pavement as you enter Tomorrowland. It seems the park will refurbish this section over night at some point in the near future.
This is just one of many refurbishment projects Disney has been working on ahead of “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” beginning on the 50th anniversary of Magic Kingdom.
