Dads at Walt Disney World can celebrate Father’s Day with merchandise and snacks throughout the resort. At Capt. Cook’s in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, there’s a special new cupcake available for a limited time. This cupcake is inspired by a food staple amongst fathers: bacon.
Father’s Day Cupcake – $5.99
Vanilla cupcake, cream cheese icing, candied bacon, and salted caramel filling with candied bacon piece on top
The cupcake came in a plastic cup, so it held its shape until we sat down to eat it.
This is hands down the best cupcake we’ve ever had at Walt Disney World. It’s definitely not your standard sugary sweet treat though.
If you like a mix of sweet and savory, you’ll love this.
The salted caramel filling and cream cheese icing made it sweet but far from overly so. The thick-cut bacon piece kicks it into savory.
The chocolate is rich and dark too, which is a perfect combination with the bacon.
The cupcake, fillings, and toppings are all balanced for just the right ratio in every bite.
With the bacon and crispy pearls, the textures were also balanced well.
The toppings melted quickly in the Florida heat, but it was a work of art.
The presentation was wonderful. We loved all the chocolate decorations on top.
We would definitely get this cupcake again and recommend you do too while it’s still available.
