Hello from the opening day of the International Food & Wine Festival! We were excited to check out all the new food booths and merchandise arriving today. We also found some updates around the park today, so let’s get started!
In addition to the display at the park’s entrance, new displays were added overnight at the entrance to the bridge and World Showcase last night.
The scrim walls surrounding the area previously dedicated to the Butterfly Garden during the International Flower & Garden Festival have been removed, revealing a completely reset green space.
The scrim walls have also come down from around the garden seating area next to Traveler’s Cafe, revealing a reimagined space for guests to sit or stand while enjoying their Festival food.
A new piece of large machinery has been brought into the “Journey of Water” construction area, and can be seen well above the construction wall.
In addition to the new trash cans we found in Future World recently, today we found a new style of trash can in World Showcase featuring an open lid. With no flap to need to be pushed back out of the way, this style could reduce touchpoints for both guests and Cast Members.
With the reopening of Tangierine Cafe as a Festival food location, the signage near the entrance of the Morocco Pavilion has been changed to help guide guests to all of the offerings available inside the Pavilion.
The main building on the right of the Italy Pavilion, La Bottega Italiana, has been repainted from a pale cream plaster color to a bold terra cotta color.
The painters did the large portions of the building, leaving the alcoves around the windows, the sides of the tower on the top of the building, and the detail space around the frescos on the building undone.
The Blood Orange Margarita at La Cantina de San Angel has been replaced with a Jalapeño Margarita, and is available on the rocks for $15.00.
Two new gift card designs are available for the Festival, and feature convenient bracelets attached, making it easy to load the card and then wear it on your wrist to keep it at hand for food purchases.
A new line of merchandise featuring La Cava del Tequila has been released. For more pictures and information on the full collection, check out our article here.
A new collection of handbags by Dooney & Bourke has been released for the International Food & Wine Festival featuring characters from “Beauty and the Beast.”
Our favorite piece of merchandise today was these new ears featuring a sequined puffy bow with little apples on it. For more pictures and information on these, the Dooney & Bourke collection, and all of the new merchandise released for the Festival, check out our article here.
We had a wonderful day at EPCOT, and we hope you enjoyed coming along with us. Have a magical day!
