Greetings and Happy Independence Day from the Universal Orlando Resort! We arrived today expecting to see some intense holiday crowds, but were pleasantly surprised to find the parks quiet. It might not be busy in the parks, but there’s a lot happening, so let’s get started!
Valet has returned to the Universal Orlando Resort. It’s good to see things starting to return to normal around here.
Making our way towards the park, we spotted some new Tokyo 2020 merchandise at a cart in CityWalk outside of the NBC Sports Grill & Brew.
Upon entering Universal Studios Florida, we were greeted by some holiday entertainment. The parks might not be doing a special fireworks display like in Hollywood, but we’re glad to see a little bit of red, white, and blue.
This Team Member either lost a race or insulted the family and now has to clean Dom’s car.
The Ragtime Gals have returned to Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon so we stopped in to see them. You can check out more photos and video here.
The crowds were very low today, especially for a holiday. We’re not complaining!
Even Diagon Alley was quiet. Wait times around the parks were low. Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts was posted at a 35 minute wait this afternoon.
Spotted Doc checking out the cab as he was walking through the park.
Islands of Adventure was also calm. We’re still in shock the crowds were so relaxed on a holiday.
Over at Islands of Adventure, the coin masters at Mythical Metals are gone. The shop area has been filled with different clothing and accessories now.
We’re patiently waiting for the return of Poseidon’s Fury in the Lost Continent. No word on a reopening date yet, but we’re ready!
Only a 20 minute wait for the Hogwarts Express. This is a great day to be here!
The crowds picked up a little bit later in the afternoon, but it was still very quiet around the parks for a holiday weekend.
Where is everyone?
Only a 45 minute wait for VelociCoaster. Time to ride!
More thematic details have been added to the VelociCoaster queue. A Mosasaurus identification sign has been added near the water. The details are great.
Time to grab a hot dog from Blondie’s in Toon Lagoon. That’s all for this visit. Thanks for joining us today around the Universal Orlando Resort and be sure to stay tuned to Universal Parks News Today for all the latest updates!
