The 4th of July is just around the corner and we are ready for all the star-spangled treats coming our way, including the new 4th of July Cupcake starring at Capt. Cook’s inside Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
4th of July Cupcake – $5.99
Chocolate Cupcake with chocolate mousse & cocoa nib filling, buttercream, and cake pop truffle.
This patriotic cupcake also features swirls of red, white, and blue icing dotted with sugar sprinkles and a glittery Mickey head silhouette against a shmear of dark chocolate.
Definitely a pretty patriotic dessert that photographs easily.
Let’s dig in!
The cupcake portion is a rich, moist chocolate cake with a chocolate mousse center filled with crunchy pop rocks that you would not know were there unless you listed carefully to them popping in your mouth.
The white chocolate coated ‘firework’ cake pop on top features a red and blue cake with a ‘pop’ of sprinkles and crisped rice pieces for crunch. It was hard to tell what kind of cake filled the actual cake pop with the white chocolate and popping pieces inside fighting for attention, but we believe it to be similar to a Fruity Pebble flavor.
Overall, we enjoyed this cupcake’s great take on July 4th, especially if you are a chocolate lover! Will you be grabbing this chocolate-lover’s American dream? Let us know in the comments below!
