CDC Recommends High Risk Passengers Avoid Cruises Regardless of Vaccination Status

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has updated its COVID-19 guidance, recommending against cruises for all high risk passengers regardless of vaccination status.

Previously, the CDC only recommended unvaccinated individuals avoid cruises. Now, the guidance has been extended to include older adults, anyone currently or recently pregnant, or otherwise at high risk.

According to USA Today, COVID-19 outbreaks are on the rise despite the rigid vaccination and testing requirements imposed on passengers. The CDC considers cruises a high risk for virus spread.
