Walt Disney World isn’t the only resort celebrating their past merchandise and designs this year! In April and May, Tokyo Disney Resort held an online referendum on merchandise designs to revive for the annual celebration of Mickey and Minnie’s birthday in November. The results were announced back in May, and have finally been revealed for sale starting November 18th! Featuring plenty of throwbacks to historical designs, there’s something for everyone young and old in this collection.
Hoodie – Â¥5600 ($49.36)
Accessory Case – Â¥2800 ($24.68)
These purple items are inspired by food wrappers using similar designs that were sold and used around Tokyo Disney Resort roughly from 1996 to 2010.
Washcloth & Face Towel Set – Â¥2400 ($21.15)
Tray & Mug Set – Â¥3200 ($28.20)
Tote Bag – Â¥4600 ($40.54)
Pouch – Â¥2600 ($22.92)
These four extremely colorful and vintage-looking items were inspired by the paper bags used to store merchandise bought at Tokyo Disneyland from 1989 to 1992.
Stationery Set – Â¥1500 ($13.22)
This art takes inspiration from a T-shirt sold at both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea in 2009, with all four designs of Mickey signing the back side.
Cushion – Â¥3000 ($26.44)
Smartphone Case – Â¥3600 ($31.73)
Laptop Case – Â¥3800 ($33.49)
These three designs are (as far as we can tell) inspired by a windbreaker that was sold at the resort in the mid-2000s, but the Oriental Land Company failed to provide further explanation on only this design.
Mask – Â¥1100 ($9.70)
This art originated on a tote bag sold around the end of Tokyo Disney Resort’s 30th Anniversary “The Happiness Year” celebration in 2014.
Blanket – Â¥4800 ($42.31)
Featuring all of the art that was both nominated for Make Your Favorite as well as some other designs from the past, this blanket (and the accompanying tote bag) celebrates the creativity of Tokyo Disney Resort’s merchandise department (our words, not theirs) over the past nearly 40 years.
All of these Make Your Favorite items go on sale November 18th at the Gag Factory in Toontown at Tokyo Disneyland, Galleria Disney at Tokyo DisneySea, at Bon Voyage, and through the Tokyo Disney Resort App. Standby Pass will be required for in-park shops, while reservations are required for Bon Voyage.
