Next up on the list of Walt Disney World 50th anniversary treats is a petit “stump” cake, available at Roaring Fork in Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.

50th Anniversary Petit Stump Cake – $5.99
Chocolate cake with birthday cake buttercream filling surrounded by chocolate “bark” fondant topped with 50th anniversary chocolate coin

The cake—which comes in a box for carrying—is shaped like a tree stump, hence the name.

The exterior chocolate fondant bark tastes exactly like canned frosting but is extremely chewy. That’s off-putting as there’s so much of it on the cake.

The flower on top tastes like actual fondant. The spiral and medallion are the same milk chocolate you’ll find on other desserts.

The actual cake is dry, but the chocolate flavor is there.

The buttercream icing on top is light and fluffy with a good amount of sugary sweetness for a dessert.

The inside is a block of cold cake batter icing that is extremely sweet and made our teeth hurt.

This is a miss for us, being too sweet with a dry cake. There’s no balance to the flavors or textures.
