The 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World is finally here! We’re celebrating in every way possible today, and that includes trying out many of the new treats now available throughout Walt Disney World. In Disney’s Animal Kingdom, we picked up the 50th Anniversary Celebration Cupcake, which is available at Creature Comforts, Flame Tree Barbecue, and Restaurantosaurus.
50th Anniversary Celebration Cupcake – $5.99
Lemon cake, lemon chiffon filling, and vanilla frosting with celebration sprinkles, splatter-coated chocolate Mickey, and a gold-dusted 50th anniversary medallion
This cupcake is absolutely bursting with flavors that all blend together well.
The cake itself has a strong lemon taste, which thankfully isn’t as overpowering as it could be. It’s also not pucker-your-face sour.
The chiffon filling does have more of a lemon kick, but it’s still not too sour.
The icing is basic buttercream vanilla. It’s sweet and blends better with the lemon than we would have expected.
The Mickey 50th medallion on top is surprisingly good. It’s better quality chocolate than other dessert decorations we’ve tried. It’s more sweet than rich.
We would definitely recommend this cupcake to any fans looking for a sweet way to celebrate the 50th!

The photos of that cupcake….wow. Amazing. Please photograph all of the 50th treats this way. LOL. I can’t wait to taste them all later this month.
