Disney Confirms Splash Mountain at Disneyland is Closing for Standard Refurbishment and Not The Princess and the Frog

As we stated in our report earlier today, Splash Mountain at Disneyland will be closing on January 10 for an annual refurbishment standard for water rides. This will not be the start of its “The Princess and the Frog” reimagining.

Disney has responded to unfounded speculation from others to confirm this is the case.

The reimagining of both American versions of Splash Mountain is still in the development stages and will likely not be seen for years to come.

  1. Personally I hope the project is just abandoned. I know she is a favorite to some, but honestly Tiana is not that popular a princess no matter how hard Disney tries to push her, and honestly there is nothing wrong with Splash Mountain the way it currently is. Which is me saying a lot cause I don’t ride it…cause of the heights.

  2. Hello! Are you guys still making the retro looks at each year at WDW? We can’t find a video past 2007 on Youtube. Thanks!
