Butterbeer is easily the number one “must try” item at Universal Orlando Resort. Did you really visit the Wizarding World if you didn’t try a Butterbeer? Earlier this year, Universal Orlando started selling Hot Butterbeer year round along with the regular and frozen varieties.

Now that the weather is starting to cool down in Florida, we wanted to share with you a “snack hack” that will elevate your Hot Butterbeer to the next level. Add a shot (or two) of espresso to your Hot Butterbeer and make your day even more magical.

This is a two-step process, requiring you to visit both the Wizarding World and a Starbucks in the park. It was a rainy, cold day, so we decided to drop into Diagon Alley and visit the Hopping Pot for a piping Hot Butterbeer. Since it’s typically very hot, we decided to make this our first stop.

Because it was raining, we got a lid for our Butterbeer. Now, let’s take a stroll towards Starbucks. Feel free to sip on your beverage while you make your way over to Starbucks, since you’ll need room to add your espresso.

After you’ve acquired your espresso shot, time to put your potions lessons to good use and combine the two drinks. This is when the magic begins.

The creamy, hot beverage blends perfectly with the espresso. The strong, bold taste of the espresso is balanced by the sweetness of the Hot Butterbeer. The coffee flavor is still detectable, but the Hot Butterbeer makes it go down smoothly.

This is a delicious way to enjoy a Hot Butterbeer and get a little pick-me-up while visiting the parks. It’s a bit of a process, but worth it in the end.
