‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Becomes Third-Highest Christmas Box Office in History

Two days ago, we reported how “Spider-Man: No Way Home” exceeded expectations and was expected to cross the global $1 billion mark. It is now the first $1 billion movie since “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.”

On Christmas Eve, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” earned $19.6 million. On Christmas Day, it made $31.7 million. And it is projected to make $30.1 million today for a combined total of $81.5 million for the entire weekend. That brings its domestic box office total to $467.3 million, the third-best 10-day total in history.

“Spider-Man: No Way Home” is Sony’s highest-grossing domestic release ever and second-best worldwide release behind “Spider-Man: Far From Home.”

“Spider-Man: No Way Home” sees the famed web-slinger Peter Parker (Tom Holland) deal with an invasion from the multiverse after a spell cast by Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) goes awry, bringing him toe-to-toe with villains like Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina), Electro (Jamie Foxx), and the Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe). You can read our review of the film here.
