Casting Call Could Mean Return of ORAC-1 Character to PeopleMover at Magic Kingdom

In a Twitter thread about Tomorrowland 2055 (a Tomorrowland that never came to be), user @MarissaTheMoth shared information implying the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover at Magic Kingdom may be updated soon.

In the first tweet, Marissa shared that a friend sent her a voice-over casting call for “ORAC.” ORAC-1 was once the name of the PeopleMover narrator.

Marissa then shared a screenshot of the casting call, which she notes was not an open casting call. It was on a casting website meant for agents and professionals.

The casting call says the voice-over is for a “classic attraction at major theme park.” The role description is “ORAC has great enthusiasm and even passion for the job. ORAC genuinely enjoys taking visitors around his favorite destination. OROAC’S vocal range is not low and not too high, right in the middle is where the voice needs to land.”

A story description says an “enthusiastic AI takes us on a tour of a futuristic land.”

An update to the PeopleMover narration makes sense with TRON Lightcycle / Run opening sooner rather than later.

  1. I did a little super-sleuth work and found the site for the audition, Actor’s Access. Expiration for the posting was 2/21, but still put an audition in, as an aspiring voice actor myself. =) Fingers crossed, Bruno style. =P Yes, i talked about Bruno. =P
