Mardi Gras at Universal Studios Florida steps off today, and we’re here to soak it all in. In addition to the best parade at Universal Orlando, a fantastical float factory Tribute Store, and returning menu favorites, a few new offerings have popped up. We stopped by the new Central America: Comet Cruisin’ booth to sample the new dishes.

Food:
- 🆕 Choripan with French Fries: Grilled chorizo, garlic mayo, chimichurri, tomato and onion curtido, split-top roll – $11.49
- 🆕 Salchipapas: Chorizo, chipotle ketchup, dijonnaise, tomato and onion curtido, crinkle cut fries – $8.49
Beverages:
- 🆕 Guava Comet Margarita: El Jimador Blanco Tequila, guava, white grapefruit, lime juice, agave nectar – $7.00 for 9 oz., $13.00 for 12 oz. souvenir cup

*NEW* Choripan with French Fries – $11.49
Grilled chorizo, garlic mayo, chimichurri, tomato and onion curtido, split-top roll
The chorizo is dense and has that satisfying snap as you bite into it.
The buttery, grilled roll envelops a blend of garlic aioli and tomato onion salad along with spicy chorizo.
Of the two chorizo offerings here, we preferred the choripan.
*NEW* Salchipapas – $8.49
Chorizo, chipotle ketchup, dijonnaise, tomato and onion curtido, crinkle cut fries
This dish is comprised of very similar ingredients to the choripan above.
The slices of chorizo are a bit tough, and the mediocre fries don’t serve as the best base. This is not one we will order again.

El Jimador Blanco Tequila, guava, white grapefruit, lime juice, agave nectar
The Guava Comet Margarita is tart and citrusy.
It definitely tastes like a margarita, but the grapefruit is a bit overpowering. If you like grapefruit, this may be the drink for you!

Central America: Comet Cruisin’ is located at KidZone Pizza Company in Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone, as indicated by the letter “H” on the map below.
