Exterior Testing and Construction Speeds Along at Universal Orlando’s New Epic Universe Theme Park

Since our last update, construction at Universal Orlando’s newest them park, Epic Universe, is moving along. Thanks to new aerial photos from @Bioreconstruct on Twitter, we can take a look at the current progress.

Here is a wide aerial look of Shingle Creek. The Epic Universe site is at the top center of this photo.

Here is a closer look at the construction of Yoshi’s Adventure in Super Nintendo World. Multiple cranes and excavators are at work.

And here is a staging area for Epic Universe. Blue tarps are covering the track for Yoshi’s Adventure.

Here is a close-up of another area where workers are testing exterior materials in the sunlight. This a test, common in theme park construction, to see how specific materials weather in certain conditions.

And here is a wider shot. The pole at the bottom center of the photo is tentatively where the entrance to Epic Universe will be. And the pole on the right side signifies the center of the theme park.

Epic Universe at Universal Orlando Resort is expected to open by summer of 2025.
