REVIEW: Delightful Darth Maul Chocolate Mousse Returns to Disney’s Hollywood Studios for May the 4th
Many Star Wars-inspired treats are available for a limited time at Walt Disney World Resort to celebrate May the 4th, a.k.a. Star Wars Day. Among the treats at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, is the Dark Side Chocolate Creation, which resembles “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace”‘s Darth Maul. This treat is returning this year for just two days — May 4 and 5.
Dark Side Chocolate Creation – $5.99
Malted milk chocolate mousse dome with raspberry mousse topped with slivered almonds sitting on a chocolate shortbread cookie
For being a throwback Darth Maul design, this was actually a pretty delightful dessert.
Disney is continuing its trend of raspberry in these limited-time treats, and it was a welcome surprise here. The mousse dome is creamy without being overly rich, and the raspberry filling adds a nice tartness to balance it out.
The chocolate shortbread crust is also a nice change of pace from the usual graham cracker.

We really appreciated slivered almonds for the horns instead of the played-out white chocolate.
Overall this was a surprisingly nice and balanced treat, with a few tricks up its menacing sleeve.
This creation can be found at The Trolley Car Café, PizzeRizzo, and Backlot Express in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Will you be trying it? Let us know in the comments.
