Two new sweet treats are here from Gelateria Toscana at the Italy Pavilion in EPCOT. We tried both: the “Affogato” Al Cioccolato and Coppa Amarena.
“Affogato” Al Cioccolato — $11.75
This vanilla gelati is served with fresh hot chocolate poured over. While the flavor tasted like a frozen hot chocolate still, the way it was made definitely helped it to melt in the sun. Overall, it stayed cool and tasted refreshing, but be ready to have something sweet when you order this one and don’t hang on to it for later!
It’s garnished with whipped cream and a pisselle cookie. The cookie was crispy and fresh for dipping into the gelati. We would certainly order Al Cioccolato again.
Coppa Amarena — $11.75
The Coppa Amarena is another vanilla gelato, this time with amarena cherry sauce.
The toppings include amaretto cookies, whipped cream, and shaved chocolate. We thought the cookies were fresh on this treat just like the other.
While all the amarena cherry sauce sank to the bottom of ours, we still tasted some on the whipped cream. If you’re not a cherry fan, this one is skippable, but we still enjoyed it!
