Maple Beignets have returned to Mint Julep Bar in Disneyland for the holiday season, and this year you can get them with a side of Maple-Bacon Dipping Sauce.
Maple Beignets – $5.49 for 3, $8.99 for 6
Rolled in Maple-flavored sugar
It’s hard to improve on a classic, but these manage to anyway. The beignets are light and fluffy and delicious as always, but the added wisp of maple flavor on the beignets themselves makes them that much better than the traditional ones. Adding that to the more heavily flavored dipping sauce, you get a solid maple treat with a hefty bite of bacon.
Maple-Bacon Dipping Sauce – $1.19
The dipping sauce does pop the sugar level up to overload, but it’s worth it for this delicious, sweet treat. The maple is never too overpowering, and the bacon comes in as a subtle yet savory undertone that pairs well with the maple flavor and the bready, fried beignets.
Overall we thoroughly enjoy beignets every time, and these are just a little bit better than the traditional version.
The holiday season at Disneyland runs from November 11 through January 8.
